My Favorite Apps!

We recognize that every transfer students' experience is different, however, we know that many transfers face some of the same challenges as they transition into the university. This blog was created for transfers by transfers to share TIPS and insight on having the best semester you can at Texas A&M University.

My favorite app to use is Hooked! If you love food (and who doesn’t love food) you need to get Hooked. Various restaurants around College Station are registered through Hooked and put deals you can only get through the app. There are tons of options and some deals are too good to pass up (Hungry Howies buy one get one pizza-yes please!)

Restaurants on Hooked include: The Grill (on campus), Hungry Howies, Fuzzy’s Tacos, Freebirds, McDonals, Antonios, Baked or Fried, Black Water Draw, Wayback Burgers, Pita Pit, Firehouse Subs, Spoons yogurt, Smoothie King, Genghis Grill,  Newks, Papa Johns, Wendy’s, Zaxby’s…and more.

Another app that I like to use is the Texas A&M app. I know people have probably told you a million times to download it, but seriously…do it. As you’re settling in to A&M the app can be so helpful and maybe after a semester once you’ve learned the ropes, you can delete it. I have ridden the buses for all four years and religiously rely on the app to let me know when the bus will be pulling up so that way I can stay inside when it’s freezing cold or raining. All of my classes are in the same building however I still use the campus map part of the app to find buildings when I need to meet up with someone or when I have tutoring or a meeting somewhere on campus. Seriously this app helps you navigate campus like a pro!!
